Pachuca looking to bring back youth academy prospect from Europe

In a report by ESPN's Marcelino Fernandez, Pachuca would be seeking to bring back midfielder Erick Gutierrez from Dutch club PSV Eindhoven. The move would see Gutierrez come back to the team that saw him come out of their youth academy on a loan basis. Gutierrez has not seen the pitch much at PSV, so a return to Mexico would allow him to get good playing time with the objective of eventually making the Mexico squad for the Qatar 2022 World Cup. He could then go back to Europe as a better prospect, if he does well in Pachuca and potentially in the World Cup.
Gutierrez played in just 8 matches this season in the Eredivisie, due mainly to a plethora of injuries that hampered the young midfielder's development. Gutierrez is currently rehabilitating from his latest muscle injury in Pachuca.
