Victor Osimhen has revealed that he is personally trying to persuade his Super Eagles teammates, Ademola Lookman and Raphael Onyedika, to join him at Galatasaray, as the Turkish giants intensify plans to strengthen their squad for the second half of the season, reports Nigeriasoccernet.com.

Lookman and Onyedika are believed to be high on Galatasaray’s transfer shortlist as the Istanbul club looks to add quality and depth in their push for domestic success and a deeper run in Europe. Speaking after Galatasaray’s 1–1 draw with Atletico Madrid in the UEFA Champions League, Osimhen admitted he has already held informal discussions with both players during international duty, with all three playing key roles as Nigeria claimed bronze at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.

“I spoke with Onyedika during the Africa Cup of Nations. I also spoke with Lookman during the matches we played for the World Cup,” Osimhen was quoted as saying by Futboo. “I told them about the Galatasaray fans, how big a club we are, and the beauty of the country. They are adults. They will make their own decisions.”

The former Napoli striker, who has quickly established himself as one of Galatasaray’s leading figures, did not hide his excitement at the prospect of being reunited with his international teammates in Istanbul. He believes their arrival would significantly boost the quality of the squad and energise the supporters.

“Their arrival would be good for our club, our players, and our fans,” Osimhen added. “Onyedika is a very good player. He plays very fluently. If he comes here, he will make a significant contribution to us. “He is a very talented player. I am trying to convince both of them. I would like them to come to one of the biggest clubs in the world and play with us.”

Behind Osimhen’s public charm offensive is clear sporting logic. Galatasaray is looking to refresh key areas of the squad as the season enters a decisive phase, and both Lookman and Onyedika would fill important needs. Onyedika has been a standout performer for Club Brugge, earning praise for his energy, ball-winning ability, and tactical intelligence, while Lookman’s future at Atalanta remains uncertain after two turbulent transfer windows.

With two established Nigerian internationals in their prime, both familiar with Osimhen and capable of making an immediate impact, Galatasaray believes such additions could take them to another level. While they are on course to retain their Super Lig title, the club knows added quality will be required to seriously challenge in the latter stages of the UEFA Champions League.
