The Super Eagles striker joined The Saints from Genk in January 2023 with the hope he will help them escape the drop. However, things didn't go as palnned with the team eventually relegating to the championship with Onuachu registering no goals in 11 appearances.

The 30-year-old joined Turkish side Trabzonspor last summer on a season-long loan deal where he registered 15 goals and four assists in 24 appearances for to help them finish 3rd onc the Super Lig table.

The performance for the Turkish side raised debates as to whether his parent club would want him back especially wth his recent form, although Trabzonspor also want him on a permanent deal.
