Ogunmodede charges Remo Stars players to remain focus
Remo Stars Coach, Daniel Ogunmodede has asked his boys not to get complacent in their play after the Ikenne side recorded another win at the weekend at the Remo Stars Stadium, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.
The Sky Blue Stars achieved another 3 points at home against Kano Pillars, getting their consecutive wins in the league, but the 2-1 win didn't come easy and Ogunmodede minced no words at the post-match.
He acknowledged his team was not at its best in the game, but sometimes grinding results in tough games is important to the course.
“It’s not a very good day for us but to be champions, some days will be like this and the most important thing is having the spirit to conquer. We didn’t play to our best but we have the maximum points which is what is important to our course,” Ogunmodede said after the win
While saluting the courage of his boys, he urged them not to think the team is there yet.
“It’s one of those things, some of the players have this belief that we are there already but we are not. We have learned a lot of lessons in our last three games. But I must salute their courage too, they fought hard.”
Ogunmodede and boys are chasing a first league title after twice coming close to winning it in the last two seasons.
They looked poised to win it this time with an 8-point advantage after 23 matches.
