Edo Queens returned to winning ways in the Nigeria Women Football League Super Six after beating Heartland Queens in their matchday 3 encounter on Wednesday, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

After their 2-1 loss to Rivers Angels, the Benin Arsenals Ladies thrashed the Imolites 3-1 at the Samson Siasia Stadium, Yenagoa in the last match of the day.

It took 34 minute before Chioma Moses got the Benin Arsenals off to a flying start with the opener.

Dive minutes later, Kafayat Mafisere doubled the lead for Moses Aduku's side giving the Edo side a strong first half with a comfortable lead.

Emem Essien extended the lead of Edo Queens within two minutes of the second half with her fourth goal of the tournament.

On 69 minute, Emmanuella James pulled one back for the Owerri-based outfit, but it turned a consolation after the final whistle as the tie ended 3-1.

The result of the last game of day 3 sees Edo Queens go second; a point adrift Bayelsa Queens who are top with 7 points while Rivers Angels are third with 5 points.

Confluence Queens are 4th on the log with 3 points while Nasarawa Amazons are 5th with 2 points. Heartland Queens occupy the last position with a point.
