NSF2022: Bayelsa, Imo clinch gold in men and women football
The football event of the Nigeria Sport Festival has come to end after the finals that were played on Wednesday.
Team Bayelsa's male team came out with the gold medal after edging team FCT in the final match at the JJ Okocha Stadium, Ugwashi-Uku.
Team Bayelsa won Gold in Men's Football event after beating FCT 5-4 on penalties (after regulation time ended 1-1).
Meanwhile, in the women football event, team Lagos suffered a back-to-back loss in the final of the National Sport Festival after losing to Imo State women football team.
Team IMO became Women's football champions after beaten Team Lagos 1-0 in the final decided at the Jay-Jay Okocha Stadium, Ugwashi-Uku.
As at the time of filing this report, team Bayelsa had amassed 90 medals in total with 31 gold, 21 silver and 38 bronze medals adrift of top team Delta that has 129 gold, 68 silver and 45 bronze medals.
Team Imo sits seventh on the medal's table with 9 gold, 3 silver and 10 bronze medals.
