NPFL: “We have put the defeat in the Federation Cup behind us” Erasmus Onu encourages the Warriors
Abia Warriors coach, Erasmus Onu has urged his players to put behind them the shocking defeat to amateur club, Ahudiya FC in the state Federation Cup as they take on Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) Champions, Rivers United in a rescheduled fixture, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.
The Warriors on Tuesday were held to a 1-1 draw by their visitor in the regulation time at the Umuahia Township stadium before losing 5-4 on penalties.
Onu is, however, unperturbed with the defeat and is sure they will claim maximum points against the Pride of Benue.
“We look forward to finishing the first stanza on a winning note,” Onu told DAILY POST.
“We have put the defeat in the Federation Cup behind us and ready for the gane against Rivers United.”
Abia Warriors currently occupy fourth position on the Group B table.
