Abia Warriors Coach, Imama Amapakabo was not a happy man after his side lost their match day 13 Nigeria Premier Football League match to Rivers United on Sunday, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

The Pride of Rivers edged the tie 1-0 courtesy of a 58 minute goal by Ndifreke Effiong at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium.

For Coach Imama, the defeat was not just a bitter pill to chew, but one he felt was already determined as he saw he knew their opponents were a desperate side.

He stated he wouldn't have been at the game as he knew his opponents would everything to get the win.

“Some women give birth naturally, some are induced to give birth. I told my team already that I wasn’t going to come for this game as I knew we lost already because we are facing a desperate team”

The win returned Rivers United to the summit of the league standings after Remo Stars faltered while Abia Warriors are 15th on the log after 13 matches played.
