Kano Pillars goalkeeper Pius Ibrahim has been invited by Saudi Arabia club Al Shabab Sporting Club of Riyadh for a month’s trial.

Pius Ibrahim, a former Nigeria U17 goalkeeper under the tutelage of coach Godwin Izilien in Gambia 2005 which also featured the likes of Sunday Mba, Elderson Echiejile and Simon Zenke.

The former Dolphins, Rangers and Nasarawa United goalkeeper said: "It is true that I am going to Saudi Arabia, I have no objection about going there.

"Football is all about money, it's beyond entertainment. So many big stars played in Saudi Arabia league the likes of Asamoah Gyang and the rest.

“The most important thing is that I am going to a greener pleasure.”

Pius Ibrahim spoke about the move during his holidays in Kaduna.

Kano Pillars are already set to miss defender Chinedu Udoji and midfielder Razak Aliyu, who joined from Enyimba in the close season.
