Chairman of Kano Pillars football club, Alhaj Kabiru Baita is adamant that his team can still win the Nigeria Professional Football League, their current position in the log notwithstanding.

Alhaji Baita told nigeriasoccernet in Abuja that Kano Pillars have what it takes to topple pacesetters Wikki Tourist FC of Bauchi and Enugu Rangers, adding that they have done their calculations,  and if they get it right, Pillars can only finish first or second

"We are hoping to pick a couple of valuable wins and a draw on the road and make sure that we do not drop any point at home.  It will be unjust to give the league title to Wikki Tourist FC or Rangers FC or even any club in the top four because anything can still happen."

"As far as I am concerned, Kano Pillars are still in contention for the title and I am optimistic that the worst that will happen is to see us finish among the top three. We are going to give our remaining matches all it takes to see where it will take us to."

On the exodus of Kano Pillars players to the overseas leagues, Alhaji Baita insisted, it will not stop the club from contesting for the league title and returning to the continent next year.
