Shooting Stars coach  Fatai Amoo  has ruled the Ibadan side out of the Premier League  title this season.

The Oluyole Warriors, who   barely escaped relegation last season,  have been struggling since the league began.

Amoo says it’s impossible to expect the  team  to win the title and believes fans should be pleased if they escape relegation this term.

“I am a realist and I don’t need to deceive anybody,” supersport.com quoted the former First Bank midfielder as saying on Thursday.

“If the  management  want to sack me for saying the truth, I will prefer that (to lying).

“For now, we  can’t say we want to win the league but we want to do well.

“And doing well means we don’t want to be relegated.

“Whatever comes (if we don’t get relegated will be seen as a bonus) and we will take it.”

The former international, who leads his team  against Rivers United on Sunday in Ibadan,  said they were  not afraid of the Port Harcourt outfit.

He said, “They are a top side; a very strong side and we respect them. They have not lost a single game in the league this season, enjoy a huge financing backing and will represent Nigeria in the CAF  Champions League.

“But  on Sunday it will be 11 men coming up against 11 men and I am confident we can hold our own against them.”

3SC are  currently one place from bottom in the 20-team league  with four points from their first five matches.
