Rivers United have continued their effective performance in this season's campaign after edging Niger Tornadoes away from home on Monday, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

The Pride of Rivers got a rare away win to maintain their unbeaten against Niger Tornadoes in Minna courtesy of Seiyefa Jackson's second-half strike.

The goal came just two minutes after the start of the second phase, and despite an additional minute of red carding for Emmanuel Nnaji, who was sent off for a second booking, the visitors remained strong to win all three points.

In Uyo, the league's reigning champions, Rangers International earned a point against Akwa United following a goalless draw at halftime.

Mustapha Agba was Shooting Stars Sports Club's hero of the day, as they recorded a 1-0 win over Katsina United at the Lekan Salami Stadium.
