NPFL: Remo Stars rally back to get point against Lobi Stars
Title contenders and table toppers, Remo Stars showed their intentions to secure the coveted trophy after rallying back from two goals down to earn a point against strugglers, Lobi Stars in Enugu, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.
The Sky Blue Stars played out a 2-2 against the Markurdi-based side in a rescheduled Nigeria Premier Football League match played at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium Enugu on Wednesday.
Johnmark Aule put Lobi ahead on 35 minutes courtesy of an assist by Segun Oloruntoba before Onyekachi Okafor extended Lobi's lead on 42 minutes from the spot after Oloruntoba was fouled in the box.
The first half ended with ended 0-2 with the Ikenne side having a lot of catching up to do in the second half.
The league leaders gave themselves a chance of a comeback after pulling one goal back through Haruna Hadi eleven minutes into the second half.
With 20 minutes to time, Remo Stars found their way back into the contest of table-toppers and bottom-placed side through Joseph Abah's strike as the encounter all square.
The result means Remo Stars remain six points clear at the top of the log, while Lobi Stars' fate at the bottom of the log seems almost sealed, with 25 points garnered after 32 matches.
