Reigning champions Remo Stars Sports Club have earned their first win of the 2025/2026 Nigeria Premier Football League season, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

The Sky Blue Stars came from behind to defeat newcomers, Kun Khalifat FC, away from home 1-2 at the Enyimba Stadium on Monday evening.

Henry Ezeonye put Kun Khalifat ahead on 15 minutes from the spot after he won a spot kick for the home side after he was felled by the Remo goalkeeper Sabitu.

The encounter remained in favour of the hosts as the two teams headed to the dressing room at the end of the first half.

A few minutes into the second half, Coach Gbenga Ogunmodede made three substitutions as Haruna Hadi, Alex Oyowah, and Samson Olasupo came in for Adama Goita, Ibe Michael, and Ebuka Anthony.

The changes added more firepower to the visitors' attack as Oyowah almost scored minutes after coming in.

The breakthrough came in 70 minutes as Ibrahim Abubakar restored parity in Aba for the champions.

Eight minutes later, the visitors turned things around in Aba as Samson Olasupo put the Sky Blue Stars in front after heading in a follow-up past goalkeeper Akpan.

Remo Stars held on for the win at the end of the final whistle to secure their first win of the season.
