The Interim Management Committee, IMC has disclosed that the draws for the Nigeria Professional Football League 2022/2023 season scheduled for 28th December, 2022 will be televised live.

The Chairman of the committee, Mr. Gbenga Elegbeleye while asked what Nigerians should expect from the draw in an interview on Sport Salsa on Kennis FM.

He replied "It's going to be by 2pm, it's going to be live draw on television. We are discussing with both AIT and NTA to air the programme, but we can very sure we are going to have a live and transparent draw on i Wednesday."

He added that the draw will be held in an hotel in Abuja and some celebrities have been invited to partake in the draw.

The former sports administrator went further to describe how the draws will be done.

"We are going to have like three pots. We don't want it be a North versus South arrangement. The teams will pick, whatever pots they find themselves they will play in that pot. However, we going to make sure clubs originating from the same state will not be in the same pot. For instance, Abia Warriors and Enyimba, Dakkada and Akwa United and Gombe United and Doma FC that are from the same states will not be in the same pot.

The abridged league format will end with a Super six", Elegbeleye said.
