Super Eagles interim manager, Austin Eguaveon has stated that the aim for his team in their first 2024 African Cup of Nations qualifying match against Benin Republic is to get victory, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

Eguaveon speaking during the pre match conference stated that they respect their opponents, but the expectation is to get a win and nothing more especially when the Super Eagles are at home.

"It’s a new journey, we all know, preparations towards the nation's cup qualifiers, first game and nothing short of winning. Expectations are high, but we are in good spirit. We are at home, we respect people, we expect the same thing too. Three points is crucial and that's what we are aiming for," he said.

The match between the Super Eagles of Nigeria and the Cheetahs of Benin Republic will take place at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium, Uyo on Saturday at 5 pm Nigeria time.
