The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) could miss out on a long touted prospect in Porto's Samu Omorodion with latest reports revealing that current Euro holders Spain are set to hand him a first call-up to the first team following a god start to the season in the Portuguese league, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

Following a successful Olympics run, head coach Luis de la Fuente’s who has reportedly been monitoring the 20 year old striker is willing to include him in his next international set-up ahead of Nigeria.

The reports further revealed that Nigeria had earlier reached out to him about a potential switch to the national team but met with a stall from the player's camp according to Football Espana.

Although Omorodion's parents are from Nigeria, he has represented Spain at various youth levels and secured a gold medal with the Spanish team, making it increasingly probable that he will continue to play for La Roja.
