Watford FC, who were relegated from the English Premier League continued its readiness for life in the Championship with a preseason victory against Wycombe on Saturday afternoon.

The Hornets suffered relegation from the Premier League at the end of last season despite having some interesting players in their squad.

They took on Wycombe with Nigeria's Super Eagles forward Emmanuel Dennis in the starting lineup of the game while other Nigerians in the team started from the bench.

Senegalese International Ismaila Sarr netted the two opening goals before Dennis added the 3rd goal in the 52nd minute.

Super Eagles vice captain William Troost Ekong was introduced in the 60th minute and former Flying Eagles midfielder Tom Dele-Bashiru came in in the 75th minute.

Asprilla sealed the game in the 90th minute as the game ended 4-1 in favour of Watford.

It remains uncertain if Dennis would stay with Watford in the new season or move elsewhere.
