NFF Should Hire another Clemens Westerhof – Bassey
The Nigeria Football Federation will settle for a foreign Coach to take charge of the Super Eagles which effectively ends the debate over the nationality of the next handler of the team however, issues may arise on the objective – immediate and long term – of the individual who’s expected to be named within the first week of June in the earliest.
Despite the agony of missing out on the 2017 Afcon and the last edition in Equatorial Guinea, the NFF also had to bear the backlash of non payment of salaries to coaches; a situation which Paul Bassey, a member of the NFF Technical Committee wants the body to avoid with its subsequent appointment.
In a chat with footballlive.ng, Bassey recommended that the next Coach of the Super Eagles be appointed with a long term objective of building a sustainable football program and structure that will ‘stand the test of time’ such as was entrusted in the hands of former Super Eagles Coach, Clemens Westerhof.
