Wilfred Ndidi has called on his teammates to secure a crucial victory against South Africa's Bafana Bafana on Friday, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

The Super Eagles are yet to win in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, having drawn their first two matches against Lesotho and Zimbabwe.

A failure to win against Hugo Broos’ side could jeopardize their World Cup hopes, following their absence from the last tournament in Qatar.

Ndidi emphasized the need for the right mental approach ahead of the match.

“Nobody needs to tell us that we did not start the campaign well enough. The opportunity has arisen to take our fate in our hands and rise to strong contention in our pool. We will approach Friday’s encounter with the right mental attitude,” Ndidi said as par Daily Post.

The match, scheduled for the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo, will kick off at 8 pm Nigeria time.
