Virgil van Dijk, a Liverpool mainstay, played for the Netherlands against Erling Haaland's Norway earlier this week, marking his return to national service after a long layoff.

During the game, the center-back suffered a slight injury when a finger on his left hand seemed to dislocate after colliding with Haaland.

With almost 40 minutes remaining on the clock, the Netherlands' personnel reacted fast and immediately sorted out van Dijk, stitched him up, and sent him back onto the field of play.

After the full-time whistle, the Borussia Dortmund prodigy spoke about the situation, revealing van Dijk's first response.

The 30-year-old allegedly told Haaland, "F*****g hell, you broke my finger," according to the Mirror.

It is known that Van Dijk recently returned from a season-long injury and this minor injury was sorted out quickly and was fit enough to see out the final portion of the fixture without a problem.
