Moroccan Referee, Jalal Jayed to officiate Super Eagles vs DR Congo World Cup Playoff Final
Moroccan referee, Jalal Jayed has been appointed to officiate the 2026 FIFA World Cup playoff final between Nigeria and the Democratic Republic of Congo on Sunday, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.
Jayed, 38, is familiar with the Super Eagles, having handled their Matchday Five encounter against Rwanda in March, which Nigeria won 2-0 courtesy of a Victor Osimhen brace.

Jayed's compatriots, Mustapha Akarkad and Zakaria Bernissi, will serve as first and second assistant referees, respectively.
Tunisia's Mahrez El Malki will act as the fourth official, while VAR duties will be handled by Algeria's Lahlou Benbraham and Tunisia's Haitham Guirat.
The match is scheduled to kick off at 8 p.m. Nigerian time at the Prince Héritier Moulay El Hassan Sports Complex in Rabat, with the winner securing a spot in the intercontinental playoffs.
