The 44-year-old former Italy international striker, was previously at the helm of La Viola between the summer of 2012 and the summer of 2015, before moving on for spells in charge of Sampdoria, AC Milan and Sevilla.

And he is now back at the Artemio Franchi following the resignation of Stefano Pioli, with Fiorentina down in tenth place in Serie A following a run of seven league games without a win.
La Viola are still involved in the Coppa Italia, having drawn 3-3 in the home leg of their semi-final tie with Atalanta.
Montella told reporters: "We resume with players who are eager to be decisive and not dwell on the past, who look forward. I also tell the fans, if we manage to get going quickly, this can still be an historic season.
"I accepted because I love this profession and it's not true that I had no alternatives. I had many proposals, including ones from Italy, but they weren't convincing.
"Once Fiorentina called, we didn't even talk about figures."
Montella's first game back in charge of Fiorentina comes on Sunday when they play host to Bologna, who are currently hovering just above the relegation zone.
La Viola are 21/20 to win the game, with the draw priced at 12/5, while Fiorentina are 1500/1 to lift the Coppa Italia this season.
