Ahead of the much-anticipated Girl Child 1-day football development and mentoring programme, billed to hold Saturday, August 10th, beginning 9am-5pm, at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan, the Lagos State female football development committee, has intensified its drive to engender a rewarding and longer lasting female football ecosystem, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

Speaking at the well-attended press conference organised by Lagos State Football Association through its  Female Football Development Committee, Vice-Chairman of Lagos FA, Adedotun Coker, commended the committee members led by Alhaja Raliat Abdulsalam, on the epochal initiative.

He added that the leadership and board of the Lagos FA, reposes so much confidence in the abilities and capabilities of the committee to help take female football to greater heights, beginning with the upcoming programme.

On her part, Alhaja Abdulsalam enthused so much confidence in the capabilities of her committee to deliver on its mandate, which entails developing, mentoring and providing a veritable platform for the girl child to thrive and make a career in football.

"This programme is more than merely coming out to play football, it is also planned to give our young girls several life-impacting programmes, that includes financial literacy and sports management."

While emphasising the importance of technical and financial supports and its sustainability, Alhaja Abdulsalam, thanked the programme sponsors and partners, for their support and belief in the initiative. Even as she expressed the determination of the female football development committee, to ensure a longer lasting relationship between the committee and the partners.

Some of the partners include, TopPro Sports Management, Lotus Bank, Lagos Tigers, Tingo, Alert Group, Ivory Health Club, 36 Lion Investment Limited, Ladies In Sports and Raliat Abdulsalam Foundation(RAF).

Meanwhile, Lagos State football stakeholders, enthusiasts and investors are earnestly looking forward to the event on Saturday.
