"?Liverpool are reportedly set to return to Ipswich Town for starlet Andre Dozzell, according to the "?Daily Mirror.

The Reds had hoped to secure Dozell's signature in the summer transfer window, but the 17-year-old opted to remain with Mick McCarthy's side to continue his senior development by being handed regular game time for the Tractor Boys.

However, since then, Dozzell has played just 45 minutes of first-team football under the Republic of Ireland boss, with those minutes coming in the shock EFL Cup defeat to Stevenage Borough back in August.

Liverpool are now believed to be ready to make a £2m offer to prise the youngster away from Portman Road if the claim from the Mirror is anything to go by.

Jurgen Klopp is believed to be a huge admirer of Dozzell's burgeoning talent, and would like to add the teen protege to his midfield ranks as he looks to inject further youthful exuberance into both the senior and youth ranks at Anfield.

The midfielder, who is the son of former Tottenham midfield star Jason Dozzell, has risen through the youth system at the Championship club and won the club's Academy Player of the Year in 2016 for his superb form in the youth teams.

Such was his impressive displays for Ipswich, Dozzell was handed his first-team debut by McCarthy on April 16 this year as a half-time substitute in the 1-1 draw away to Sheffield Wednesday.

Amazingly, Dozzell took just 26 minutes to register his first senior goal for the club as he headed home Ipswich's equaliser against the Owls and, in the process, matched his father's own achievement of netting as a 16-year-old on his debut - Jason having done likewise back in 1984.

Dozzell also played 54 minutes of the 1-1 home encounter with Fulham seven days later, before returning back to the bench for the stalemate away to Middlesbrough the following week.

An England Under-18 international, Dozzell has been capped two times for Neil Dewsnip's side after making 15 and three appearances for the Under-17 and Under-16 sides respectively.
