Rangers defender Leon Balogun has signed a new one-year contract with the Scottish outfit, Nfgeriasoccernet.com reports.

Balogun rejoined Rangers last summer for a second stint and was initially set to be out of contract this summer.

The experienced centre-back spoke after Saturday's Scottish Cup final defeat to Celtic at Hampden about his desire to extend his Ibrox career.

Now according to The Scottish Sun, the Nigeria international has penned a deal as Clement plans for the Champions League  qualifiers and a tilt at silverware next term.

The former Brighton & Hove Albion player had a slow start to the season but gradually impressed manager Philippe Clement.
