Lawyers for former Kotoko Executive Chairman, Dr. K. K. Sarpong and that of Kotoko are set for a meeting to resolve issues arising out of the pre-trial while the substantive case of the lawsuit filed against the club is expected to begin soon.

The two parties were before the pre-trial judge on Wednesday to settle on various applications filed.

Earlier, Kotoko were informed of a motion for leave of court filed by lawyers of Dr. Sarpong to serve Kotoko with interrogatories, seeking to question Kotoko on various grounds and expecting the club to provide answers.

Kotoko subsequently objected to this application and opposed it with an affidavit in opposition.

The judge is said to have received the docket and gone through it but Dr. Sarpong’s lawyers subsequently filed a document purporting to withdraw the earlier application, to which Kotoko lawyers deemed not proper and once again opposed it.

The judge reminded parties that, he is a pre-trial judge and impressed on parties to agree on the way forward for the applications to the pave way for the pre-trial.

The parties subsequently agreed to withdraw all applications.

The two parties are scheduled to meet again after the initial inconclusive meeting for pre-trial settlement and it is expected that, the issues for the substantive case will be agreed on for the trial to begin.

The case was thus adjourned to a later date.
