Real Sociedad are considering the option of offloading Sadiq Umar to the United Arab Emirates, with the Nigerian striker viewed as a potential late departure before the Gulf nation’s transfer window closes, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

Although he has recently returned to full training with the first team, the club has not shut the door on his exit, leaving open the possibility of a deal in one of the few markets still operating.

The Laliga outfit remain hopeful that an agreement can be struck, with the UAE window offering a two-week grace period before it shuts on October 2.

At present, Umar’s reintegration into training at Zubieta stands out as one of the key developments in Sergio Francisco’s sessions, following weeks of separate work aimed at rebuilding his fitness.

Yet, despite his progress, the striker’s prospects of featuring remain limited, as Francisco had already made clear during preseason that Umar is not part of his long-term plans.

Globally, only a select few transfer markets remain active, with Serbia closing on September 19, Greece running until September 26, and the UAE standing out as the most financially powerful option, staying open until October 2.

For both Real Sociedad and Umar, the Gulf state represents the last realistic opportunity for an exit this year as both parties seeks options for exit.
