Valencia manager Carlos Corberán has heaped praise on Umar Sadiq after the Nigerian striker scored the winning goal in their 2-1 victory over Real Valladolid on Saturday, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

Sadiq's 54th-minute strike sealed a crucial three points for Los Che, boosting their chances of avoiding relegation.

The 28-year-old has now scored five goals in seven league appearances for Valencia since joining on loan from Real Sociedad in January.

Corberán singled out Sadiq's performance, saying: "I think Sadiq today exemplifies what the game was like. A game with mistakes at times, but with the mentality to recover from those situations."

The Valencia boss also expressed his confidence in his attacking options, adding: "I have absolute and full confidence in the three forwards we have."
