Nyantakyi will whip John Mahama & Akuffo Addo if they combine forces in GFA election, Eddie Doku declares
One of the leading power brokers in Ghana football says Kwesi Nyantakyi will thrash Ghana President John Mahama and opposition leader Nana Akuffo Addo if they combine forces to face the incumbent at the Ghana FA elections later this year.
Eddie Doku, who is the chairman of the powerful Greater Accra Regional FA, claims any individual who attempts to face the popular Nyantakyi in the elections likely to be held in September will be disgraced.
The leader of the regional body, who commands about 30% over the 123 voters at the election, says any contenders for the position will get 'minus zero' but insists he wants the wannabes to contest to 'see their level'.
Doku says the groundswell of support for the affable football administrator is so immense that NOBODY can unseat the incumbent FA boss including President Mahama and Akuffo Addo even if they combine forces.
"There is a difference between football management and the governance of a country. When the president even comes down to contest the FA elections with Nana Akufo Addo as a running mate, Kwesi Nyantakyi will beat them hands down," Doku told Happy FM.
"Mr. Nyantakyi has done so well at the Ghana Football Association and those involved in football know what he has done. That is why the president of Switzerland cannot contest Sepp Blatter and win."
Nyantakyi has received overwhelming endorsements from many delegates across the country ahead of the elections scheduled to take place at the end of the season.
The astute lawyer will likely go unopposed as his presence seems to intimidate other contenders and Doku, who is also a leading member of the ruling NDC party claims he will sweep aside many votes during the election to retain his seat.
“Not even John Mahama can win the GFA elections against Kwesi Nyantakyi, he is the president of Ghana and he cannot do football and I say he cannot win the GFA boss if he contests Kwesi Nyantakyi”. Doku a member of the NDC party said.
Nyantakyi has been hailed by many for his leadership style which has seen the country chalk successes in all aspects of the game.
Yet his detractors claim there is mounting corruption against his administration even though no concrete evidence has been adduced.
