Kennedy Boboye has resigned as the head coach of Sunshine Stars after Sunday’s NPFL match against Heartland, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

"I've resigned. (My resignation) it's best known to me., he said after the game.

According to journalist Shina Oludare, the two-time NPFL champion had the decision already in the pipeline five days before facing the Naze Millionaires in Owerri, citing unending interference from club management, particularly from ODSFA Chairman Bamidele Ologunloluwa, whose actions had become increasingly disruptive.

In his second stint as coach of the Owena Whales, Boboye coached in 30 matches, winning 12, drawing 7, and losing 11.

An official statement is expected from the club soon.
