"?Liverpool full-back Connor Randall has seen a move to Preston North End blocked by Jurgen Klopp, "?according to the Daily Mail's live transfer blog.

Nathaniel Clyne is currently Liverpool's first-choice right-back, but, with a lack of options in the full-back positions, Klopp has denied Liverpool youngster Randall the chance to join Championship side Preston. Preston boss Simon Grayson is reportedly keen on signing the 20-year-old, but Klopp's reluctance to let Randall leave means no deal will take place.

Randall made seven appearances for the Merseyside club last season as part of Liverpool's rotation policy as they tried to succeed in the Premier League, the League Cup and the Europa League.

Liverpool have already let Jon Flanagan leave for Premier League rivals Burnley, in order to build up his fitness and gain valuable first-team minutes after struggling for matches over the past few seasons. The 23-year-old made 23 Premier League appearances during Liverpool's title challenging season of 2013-14, but missed the following season entirely before making eight appearances last campaign in another injury stricken campaign.

While Emre Can and Joe Gomez have filled in at right-back in previous campaigns for Liverpool, Klopp is obviously eager to keep an orthodox alternative to Nathaniel Clyne, with midfielder James Milner being used as a back-up to the out-of-form Alberto Moreno on the other side of Liverpool's defence.

Preston have started the Championship season poorly, winning just one game out of five. They currently lie second bottom of the league table, and so far this transfer window they have recruited Eoin Doyle, Chris Maxwell, Tommy Spurr, Anders Lindegaard, Ben Pringle and Callum Robinson.
