Ghanaian striker John Antwi marked his CAF Confederation Cup debut for Egyptian giants Al Ahly with a crucial goal as they pipped Tunisian giants Esperance de Tunis 1-0 on Saturday.

Antwi, 22, raced the Cairo giants into the lead with a superb 6th minute finish which separated the two sides at the blast of the final whistle at the Stade Olympique de Radès.

The renowned goal poacher positioned himself well inside the box to elude the Esperance defence to artfully rattle the net with a close range finish.

The former Hearts of Oak forward once again highlighted his superior scoring form since joining Ahly by scoring after netting a double brace for Ahly in a Cup game last week.

The victory has put Ahly on top of Group A with 10 points from 5 games but could lose the spot of Etoile du Sahel record a victory at Malian side Stade de Malian on Sunday.
