Ivory Coast coach Herve Renard is confident Ghana will win the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations thanks to their showing in this year's competition which was won by the Elephants.

The Ivorians defeated the Black Stars 9-8 on penalties on Sunday even though the Ghanaians dominated the game and made the Ivorians look like an ordinary side after the regulation time produced no goals.

Renard believes the Black Stars have got what it takes to win the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations given their showing in this year's competition.

“Ghana is a good side and I have had the privilege of working with some of them and I think they will bounce back,” he said post-match.

“This is their second defeat in the final since 2010 while this would have been our third so they may be lucky the next one they are in next time.

“For me I can say I am a lucky church who had the pleasure of working with extra-ordinary group of players.”

Ghana presented a squad made up of young players who impressed throughout the tournament with Christian Atsu winning the player of the tournament award.
