Nigeria Super Falcons fell to a narrow defeat over 10th placed France in an international friendly played on Saturday in France, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

Ifeoma Onumonu scored Nigeria's first-ever goal against France, but it was not enough as the 9-time African champions lost 2-1 at the Stade Raymond Kopa, Angers.

Le Sommer handed the French the lead in the 29th minute before Amel Majri doubled the lead 9 minutes later.

Onumonu pulled one back at the stroke of halftime, scoring Nigeria's first goal against France in a decade as the first half ended 2-1.

The Falcons put up a solid performance in the second half with chances for Shakirat Isah whose attempt was saved, but it was not enough to salvage a point at the end.
