Brentford midfielder Frank Onyeka is set to miss Nigeria's 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against South Africa and Benin Republic due to injury, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

Onyeka, 26, was absent for Brentford’s final two matches of the season because of this setback and is expected to be left out of Nigeria’s squad for the upcoming qualifiers.

Nigeria will face South Africa at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo on Friday, June 7, followed by a match against Benin in Abidjan three days later.

The Super Eagles are facing a spate of injuries with regulars like Victor Osimhen and Samuel Chukwueze also doubtful.

Additionally, Moses Simon, Zaidu Sanusi, and Tyrone Ebuehi have already been ruled out.

Tough time for the coach Finidi George as the three time African champions sit third of the group with two points from two games.
