Liverpool target Barcelona defender Alejandro Balde, reports say

Liverpool are interested in signing Barcelona left-back Alejandro Balde, according to Spanish newspaper Diario SPORT.

The 22-year-old has been identified as a target by Liverpool head coach Andoni Iraola, who reportedly wants the defender to move to Anfield in January.

Manchester United are also said to be monitoring Balde, but Liverpool believe their relationship with Barcelona could give them an advantage in any potential deal.

The Merseyside club signed Ronald Araujo from Barcelona on loan during the summer, a move Liverpool feel could strengthen their position in negotiations over Balde.

Barcelona have placed a price tag on the defender, although no fee has been disclosed.

Balde has not played a match for Barcelona this season. His contract with the club runs until 2028.
