Juventus issue statement after Curva Sud disrupts Sandro Mazzola tribute

Juventus have condemned a section of their support after fans disrupted a minute’s silence for Inter and Italy legend Sandro Mazzola before Saturday’s Serie A match against Atalanta.

At the Allianz Stadium, some supporters in the Curva Sud turned their backs on the pitch and began singing songs commemorating Juventus legends during the tribute.

Their chants were drowned out by a wave of applause from other spectators inside the stadium.

Juventus later issued a statement condemning the behaviour. Mazzola died on Saturday at the age of 83.
