Flamingos Face Diamond Stars Sporting Queens in WAFU B Warm-Up
Nigeria’s U-17 women’s national team, the Flamingos, will step up their preparations for the 2026 WAFU B U-17 Girls Cup with a friendly against Diamond Stars Sporting Queens on Tuesday, September 8, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.
The preparatory match is scheduled to kick off at 4:00 p.m. and will give the Flamingos another opportunity to assess their squad, sharpen their tactical approach and improve their match fitness ahead of the regional tournament.
The 2026 WAFU B U-17 Girls Cup will be hosted by Côte d’Ivoire from September 15 to 28.
Nigeria have been drawn in Group B alongside Ghana, Togo and Niger, setting up a challenging group-stage campaign for the young Nigerians.
The Flamingos will be hoping to make the most of their remaining preparation matches as they fine-tune their squad and build momentum ahead of their opening fixture in Côte d’Ivoire.
