Obafemi Martins and Fanendo Adi will lead Seattle Sounders and Portland Timbers attack respectively when they battle for honours in the MLS playoffs.

The Nigeria strikers are the shining light of their respective clubs in the just-ended regular season of the MLS, scoring 15 goals each and they now have their hands full in a bid to make impact in the playoffs.

Their teams play in the Western Conference and on Wednesday Seattle Sounders will host LA Galaxy.

Seattle Sounders were knocked out in the playoffs last year and so Martins and his team mates will now be seeking revenge.

Fanendo Adi and his Portland Timbers teammates will face Sporting Kansas City in the playoffs on Thursday.

Nigerian-born Canada international Tesho Akindele will represent FC Dallas in the playoffs.
