Ghana defender Daniel Amartey says he is thriving due to the guidance of his senior colleagues in the Black Stars camp.

The 20-year-old was an instant hit in his first competitive game for the Black Stars in the Group C opening defeat to Senegal on Monday.

The FC Copenhagen man was handed the Fair Play award in recognition of his impressive performance in the defeat to Senegal.

The Ghanaian youngster says his exploits is being helped by the guidance of his coach and the senior colleagues in the team.

“It is my first time playing for Ghana and I do my best to listen to the coach,” he said.

“The instructions he gives me, I have to do it on the pitch.

“I am also playing with Jonathan Mensah and Awal Mohammed who are experienced players so I listen to them on the pitch to do my best.”
