Legendary England strike Gary Lineker has described Kelechi Iheanacho as a clinical finisher, after he opened his Premier League goals account this season against Brighton.

Iheanacho was selected ahead of Jamie Vardy and repaid his manager’s faith by giving Leicester the lead inside one minute.

It was Iheanacho’s first Premier League since May this year when he scored the only goal in Leicester’s 3-1 loss to Tottenham Hotspur.

But it was not enough as Leicester ended up losing 5-2 and have suffered defeats in their last five league games.

And reacting to Iheanacho’s opener against Brighton Lineker, a former Leicester striker, urged Brendan Rodgers to give the Super Eagles star more playing time.

“Kelechi is a clinical finisher and deserves a good run in the side,” Lineker wrote on Twitter.

Last season Iheanacho scored four goals in 26 Premier League games.
