I hope Boniface and others drank too much beer Moyes speaks ahead of West Ham, Leverkusen clash tonight
Ahead of tonight's UEFA Europa League quarterfinal second leg clash, West Ham manager David Moyes humorously said that he hopes Victor Boniface and the rest of the Bayer Leverkusen team indulged in excessive beer consumption during the massive celebrations that ensued their first-ever Bundesliga triumph, Nigeriasoccernet.com gathered.
Moyes while speaking during the pre-match conference joked that he hopes they are still feeling daze as they head into tonight's UEFA Europa League quarterfinal second leg.
"I hope they enjoyed some giant, XXL-sized pints like they have in Germany," Moyes quipped at Bayer Leverkusen.
"Why not celebrate winning the championship? It's important to savor these moments, as they pass by quickly," he continued.
Speaking more seriously, he added, "We know we need to do a better job. We played well in the first match but it wasn't enough, especially against top teams like Arsenal or Manchester City. We need to find ways to get results.
"We gave a lot of effort last week and came close. We will keep trying."
West Ham trail 2-0 from the first leg thanks to two late goals from Leverkusen, the second coming from Nigeria's Victor Boniface.
