Ex-Berekum Chelsea coach Tony Lokko is set to be named the new coach of struggling Heart of Oak, replacing departing Herbert Addo, GHANAsoccernet.com can reveal.

The Accra-based side agreed to mutually terminate the contract of the under-fire trainer on Tuesday following a meeting between the two parties.

The club has finally bowed to fans pressure  and have dispensed with the services of the veteran tactician following a rather difficult campaign in his short tenure.

Addo replaced Mohammed Polo last year but failed to endear himself to the club’s demanding supporters, forcing the board to terminate his contract.

The former African champions have concluded negotiations with Tony Lokko and will almost begin work on Wednesday.

Lokko has been without a job since leaving Ghanaian second-tier side Cornestone.

He had long been linked with the job despite being overlooked in the past.

But he joins the side at a difficult time where the side are struggling on the domestic front as they flirt with relegation.

They have a mounting task ahead of their next Premier Leaque game against Aduana Stars on Sunday.
