Hearts of Oak spokesman Muheeb Saeed has confirmed that the club owe player salaries for three months.

Reports are rife that the players are planning a boycott of the CAF Confederation Cup return leg against Esperance in protest of their unpaid salaries.

The club’s accountant Hackman Aidoo had earlier debunked reports of a simmering boycott by the players but spokesman Muheeb Saeed has confirmed the club owes the players.

“It is true Hearts owe player salaries for three months,” he confirmed.

“The club also owes bonus for the qualification over Djoliba.”

Saeed however adds that the huge financial burden of their campaign in the CAF Confederation is the reason for the delayed salary payments.

“The financial requirements for the African campaign is so huge it has affected other operations of the club,” he added.
