Guinea skipper Ibrahima Traore has warned Ghana to be wary of the match official selected to handle their Africa Cup of Nations semi-final contest against host Equatorial Guinea on Thursday.

The Black Stars game against the host has been overshadowed by reports of perceived grand agenda aimed at aiding the host to progress to the finals.

The Ghanaians managed an impressive 3-0 win over the Syli Nationale on Sunday and their captain has warned the West Africans to play it safe against the host.

” I wish Ghana all the best because they are good side and they can win the trophy. Today showed how good Ghana is. That match against the hosts will be very tough but they (Ghana) have to be very careful because Equatorial Guinea plays with the referee,” told Citi FM Sports .

“Ghana won today because they deserved it. We did not play our football and we probably showed too much respect towards the Ghanaian team. We played as though we had nothing to fight for. I do not understand why there was so much pressure on us. Perhaps, it was because it was a first Nations Cup quarter finals for a lot of us.

“We will apologise to our fans for how we played against Ghana because they are disappointed. We had given them lots of joy but now, it has all ended. I would have loved to win so they would be happy.” -
