Green backed to make impression
Preston North End boss Alex Neil hopes that his team will benefit from Andre Green's experience as a promotion-winner with Aston Villa last season.
The 21-year-old winger, who has moved to Deepdale on a season-long loan, made 22 appearances for Villa last term and was involved in the play-off semi-final games against West Brom and the Wembley victory over Derby County.
Green is expected to play in this weekend's Championship opener at Millwall, a game Preston are 19/10 to win.
Neil said: "Andre played the second half of last season at Aston Villa in a team that was promoted. We are very hopeful that his directness, his pace and his creativity will add to our front line and that he will score and supply goals.
"The experience of being involved in an event of the magnitude of the play-offs and the Final, in particular, will help to spur him on to have more success and hopefully that will be with Preston North End."
Meanwhile, Green said: "I'm happy I'm here. I just spoke to the gaffer. Everything is exciting and I can't wait to get started and meet the lads.
"I had a good season in the Championship last year and I'm excited to be here to bring that experience I've had into this team. The lads dealt with it really well last year and hopefully I can bring some extra power to the attack of the team and we can go somewhere this season."
Preston can be backed at 10/1 to be promoted from the Championship in the 2019/20 campaign.
