Goodness Osigwe signs for Swedish club Djurgården IF on a 2-year deal
Eighteen-year-old Nigerian forward Goodness Osigwe has completed a move to DIF from Edo Queens, signing a contract that runs until 2027, Nigeriasoccernet.com can confirm.
Following a protracted visa process, the young striker has now arrived in Stockholm and took part in her first training session with the squad at Kristinebergs IP on Sunday.
"I am very happy and grateful to have the opportunity to play for Djurgården. It feels like a privilege to come here, says Goodness, who has read a lot about her new club," Goodness stated in her first interview with her new side.
"I don't have a very good grasp of everything in Djurgården yet, but I know that it is one of the largest clubs in Sweden that is well placed in the highest league. A very good team that I look forward to being a part of.
"I don't know much about Stockholm either, yet, but it will be a lot of fun to live here and get to know the city and the people there.
Looking at her qualities on the pitch, Goodness is a player with high speed and technique who likes to challenge in the offensive.
"Fast and technical, I like to challenge with my dribbling. Then there have been a few goals too, and I have a good self-confidence that helps me out on the pitch.
"I'm looking forward to developing as a player here in Djurgården and getting to know everyone, to then be able to contribute to the team. We will work hard together, and hopefully, we can be part of fighting for titles in the coming seasons.
With the remaining administrative formalities finalized, Osigwe is now fully cleared to make her debut whenever she is selected.
