Ghanaian youth sensation Godfred Donsah could be set for a spell on the sidelines after he picked an injury in Cagliari's 2-1 home reverse against Hellas Verona in the Italian Serie A on Sunday afternoon.

The 18-year-old went into a challenge with Hellas Verona midfielder Bosko Jankovi? on the 13th minute and was unable to continue the game, forcing manager Gianfranco Zola to make an unplanned substitution.

Former Italy striker Luca Toni had scored first for Hellas Verona before Donsah was forced off the pitch but the hosts were unable to peck the scoring before Juan Taleb added the second goal for the visitors in the 56th minute.

Daniele Conti's impressive free-kick from 20-yards in the 90th minute was not enough to save Cagliari.

Cagliari doctors will perform quick scans on the versatile defender early on Monday to assess the extent of his injury.

Donsah has become a subject of massive interest from English Premier League clubs including Manchester City, Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool.
