Ghana's AFCON heroes Wakaso, Atsu and John Boye return to boost their European clubs
Scottish side Celtic's strong start to 2015 is about to get another boost with the return of Mubarak Wakaso to their first team squad.
The 24-year-old is on loan from Rubin Kazan, and has been absent due to his participation in the African Cup of Nations, helping Ghana reach the final only to lose in a penalty shootout to Ivory Coast.
He sent a picture out on his Twitter feed during Celtic's win over Partick Thistle, picturing himself about to fly back, also picturing Everton loanee Christian Atsu and Erciyesspor's John Boye, as they prepared to make their separate ways.
Wakaso was a strong performer at the tournament in Equatorial Guinea, scoring in the 3-0 semi-final win over the hosts.
Everton's Atsu himself played six games, netting twice, and he will be a nice option for Roberto Martinez to help shake up his squad, who are outside the top 10 in the English Premier League.
Celtic have a more comfortable scenario for Wakaso to head back into, they are unbeaten in 2015, top of the league and have a Scottish League Cup Final to look forward to against Dundee United next month.
Yet with a permanent deal to play for, the winger is likely to be highly motivated to push himself to end the season strongly, and play his part in winning silverware. Wakaso has one goal and one assist in 12 games for Celtic this season.
